FALL 2024

registratioN IS NOW OPEN!

Bring it on Weston!!  Registration is now open for the Fall 2024 Competition Season. We will be opening the Hurlbutt Sideline registration at the end of the summer. Here are the details on our season:

Who's excited to cheer for the blue and gold this fall?!?!?  We are, we are!!! Super enthused to welcome our existing cheerleaders back and to grow our squads with new cheerleaders as well!  No experience necessary, just come with enthusiasm, smiles, a desire to be part of an awesome team, and an eagerness to learn cheer!

Program will look much the same as it did last season, filled with fun and cheering! We will be a little stricter with attendance this season. If you know you have a conflict and will not be able to make the full practices please speak with us before signing up. We learned the hard way how difficult it is for the squad when cheerleaders are missing from practice. If a cheerleader misses too many practices they may not be able to participate in the competitions.

We also have an exciting opportunity for our older cheerleaders this year. Our Local division is organizing an elite team that will compete at Nationals in Florida in December! It's a try out team and you must be 11,12,13 or 14 by July 31, 2024 to try out. As I get more details I will share them. The one thing I know is that they must be on the Weston team to try out and practices will most likely be on a weekend so they don't interfere with our team practice. If you would like more information on this let us know!!

We are not sure yet what the breakdown of squads will be, we need to know how many girls we're working with. This is why the sooner you can sign up the better so we can start forming teams. We do our best to keep full grades together but it gets a little tricky sometimes because the age cut off is July 31st for cheer.

Minis - SIDELINE ONLY
Grades K - 2nd
Middies:
WIS Grades 3rd, 4th & 5th
Majors
Grades 6th-8th

The Minis are our youngest squad and will not be participating in competitions. This will be a very relaxed and fun 1 day a week after school class. The cheerleaders will learn our town sideline cheers, motions and jumps and entry level stunting.

Brie Guertin will return as our coach for the Fall of 2024. More details will be provided over the summer. The class will go from 3:15-4:15 and be held at the East House Cafeteria at Hurlbutt. Pick up will be at the front doors of Hurlbutt at 4:15.

These cheerleaders will also get to show off their cheers at the Friday Night Lights games with the older competition teams and the High School team!!

The Middies are our younger competitive cheer squad. This will most likely be broken up into at least 2 teams. We keep this fun for the girls while strengthening their cheerleading skills, elevating their routines and stunts, and strengthening their sense of teamsmanship.

Practice days/times will be communicated as soon as the coaches know their schedules and we can secure gym space. Practice will be either 2 or 3 days a week. We will communicate all information as soon as we can.

All teams will be competing in at least 2 competitions at the appropriate skill level and against comparably skilled squads. IF the they place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the second competition, then they will advance to a 3rd, and if the same thing happens again they would go to the 4th (which is nationals in Florida).

These cheerleaders will also  get to show off their cheers at the Friday Night Lights games with the High School team!!

The Majors are our older squad.  It's our most serious squad, yet undeniably fun for the cheerleaders!  We strengthen their cheerleading skills, elevate their routines, learn tons of stunts, and strengthen their sense of teamsmanship.

Practice days/times will be communicated as soon as the coaches know their schedules and we can secure gym space. Practice will be 3 days a week. We will communicate all information as soon as we can.

Majors will participate in two super fun cheer competitions, at the appropriate level for the team against comparably skilled squads, and IF they place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the second competition, then they will advance to a 3rd, and if the same thing happens again they would go to the 4th (which is nationals in Florida).

These cheerleaders will also get to show off their cheers at the Friday Night Lights games with the High School team if they choose to!!
